Kendall kept walking back and forth in his bedroom, making sure he wasn’t forgetting anything. He had asked James out on a date earlier in the week and he was nervous as hell. He wanted things to go right for the both of them. Kendall had an amazing time the last time he and James went out, he just wanted to make James feel the same way.
He frantically kept looking for his board shorts in his backpack and his drawers, until he suddenly remembered that he was already wearing them. “Way to go, Kendall,” he says to himself, sighing. He makes sure that everything that he needs is in his backpack before pulling it over his shoulder. On his way out of his room, he checks his hair in the mirror, making sure he looks alright, then wonders why in the world he did so when they’re gonna go surfing anyway. He grabs his phone, texting James letting him know he’ll be there in a few minutes, as he walks out the front door and locks it.
He makes sure his surf board is secured safely on top of his car, patting it a couple of times, and takes a deep breath before jumping inside his car. He turns on the engine, popping in a Taking Back Sunday CD before pulling out of his driveway and heading to James’, windows down and singing along to one of the songs.
“A day at the beach, with one of the most amazing guys you know, Kendall. This’ll be perfect,” he reassures himself with a grin.
